Corrosion Resistant Vinyl Ester Resins

MVR ResinsMVR Series — Modified Vinyl Ester Resins

Interplastic Corporation manufactures a series of CoREZYN® modified vinyl esters. These products exhibit many of the same characteristics as their vinyl ester counterparts – they are tough, versatile, have moderate corrosion resistance, and easy to work with. They do not offer the performance extremes of the 100% vinyl esters, but where maximum performance is not required, the MVR products offer an excellent cost saving alternative.

Interplastic also offers tough, low VOC, modified vinyl ester resins (MVR). These promoted, thixotropic, modified vinyl esters are also designed specifically for marine laminate construction, but contain a maximum of 35% styrene (HAP) by weight, meeting the EPA requirements for the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air pollutants for Boat Manufacturing, as well as the high strength requirements in the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Reinforced Plastic Composites Production. They also have good exotherms for good cosmetic surface and minimal glass print in thin layers. They also have fast Barcol hardness development. The CoREZYN MVR8013 LH series and MVR8011 series of resins are designed for marine, tooling and general composite applications. They feature excellent physical characteristics, surface quality and blister resistance. These resin series also give you the toughness and strength of traditional vinyl esters plus compliance with current EPA regulations.


MVR8031 (Family)

MVR8031 is a promoted, thixotropic, modified vinyl ester resin. It is designed for marine laminate construction where optimum properties in physicals, hydrolytic stability, and surface characteristic retention are desired. This product has been evaluated for blistering of gel-coated panels.exposed to boiling water. These panels typically withstand 150-170 hours.of boiling water immersion before any signs of blistering occur.


MVR8031LH (Family)

A promoted, thixotropic, modified vinyl ester resin designed for marine laminate construction. MVR8031LH-20 contains a maximum of 35% styrene. (HAP) by weight, meeting the EPA requirements for the National Emission. Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Boat Manufacturing as well as the high strength requirements in the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Reinforced Plastic Composites Production.


MVR8013 (Family)

MVR8013 is a promoted, non-thixotropic, modified vinyl ester vacuum infusion resin. It is designed for laminate construction where optimum properties in physicals, hydrolytic stability, and surface characteristic retention are desired. This permanent code replaces the temporary code VEX208-391. No changes in formulation have been made.
