Interplastic's unsaturated polyester resins contribute to LEED® points in cast polymer applications. The resins contain both post-consumer recycled material and rapidly renewable material. Award points for these categories are under Materials and Resources MR 4.1, MR 4.2 and MR 6.


LEED POINTS

USGBCThe U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) established the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System, and it is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

Green Building Standards include many broad categories such as Site Planning, Water Management, Energy, Material Use and Indoor Environmental Quality. Third-party companies provide certifications for certain aspects of environmental impact and list products that provide contributions to LEED certification. Two of the most used are GreenGuard and Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).

"Green" Resin - Cast Polymer

Eco-responsible Resins Contribute to LEED points.

SIL90BA-220ECO

Marble Resin, 5.5% rapidly renewable content, 15% post-consumer recycled. SIL90BA-220ECO is an unsaturated polyester resin that contributes to LEED points in cast polymer applications. This resin contains both post-consumer recycled material and rapidly renewable material. The USGBC awards LEED points for these categories through Materials and Resources MR 4.1, 4.2 and MR 6, respectively. The post consumer recycled content is material that would have gone to a landfill, and rapidly renewable materials are those that are derived from bio-based sources (crops). This resin is designed for general purpose cast marble applications.


SIL93BE-330ECO

Solid Surface Resin have 5.5% rapidly renewable content and 15% post-consumer recycled. SIL93BE-330ECO is an unsaturated polyester resin that contributes to LEED points in cast polymer applications. This resin contains both post-consumer recycled material and rapidly renewable material. The USGBC awards LEED points for these categories through Materials and Resources MR 4.1, 4.2 and MR 6, respectively. The post consumer recycled content is material that would have gone to a landfill, and rapidly renewable materials are those that are derived from bio-based sources (crops). This resin is designed for solid surface applications, is acrylic modified and contains UV stabilizers.


SIL93BE-940ECO

Our unsaturated polyester resin that contributes to LEED points in cast polymer applications. This resin contains at least 20% rapidly renewable material. The USGBC awards LEED points through Materials and Resources MR 4.1-4.2 and MR 6, respectively. This resin is designed for solid surface applications, is acrylic modified and contains UV stabilizers.


SIL93BE-970ECO

This resin is an unsaturated polyester resin that contributes to LEED points in cast polymer applications. This resin contains at least 20% rapidly renewable material. The USGBC awards LEED points through Materials and Resources MR 4.1-4.2 and MR 6, respectively. This resin is designed for solid surface applications. It is acrylic modified and contains UV stabilizers.



"Green" Resin – Laminating Resin

COR52-AA-085ECO

This resin is a low reactivity, unsaturated polyester especially designed for excellent adhesion to acrylic sheeting. It is used as a component of the glass reinforced laminate backup for rigidizing acrylic sheeting in swimming pools, spas, and tub/shower stall units. This unsaturated polyester resin contributes to LEED points in building applications. This resin contains bio-based renewable carbon material. The USGBC awards LEED points for this category through Materials and Resources MR 4.1-4.2 and MR6, respectively.



"Green" Resin - Pultrusion

COR31DA-500ECO

This is a non-promoted, medium to high reactivity, unsaturated polyester resin. COR31DA-500ECO resin has excellent glass wet-out characteristics. This unsaturated polyester resin contributes to LEED points in building applications. This resin contains post-consumer recycled material. The USGBC awards LEED points for this category through Materials and Resources MR 4.1-4.2 and MR 6, respectively.
