(St. Paul, MN – April 21st, 2021) Interplastic Corporation announced today that it will raise the price of both Silmar and CoREZYN brand polyester resins, gel coats, bonding compounds and colorants up to $0.10 per pound. CoREZYN brand vinyl ester resins and gel coats will increase up to $0.20 per pound. This increase will take effect for all shipments on or after May 15th, 2021 or as contracts allow.
The unanticipated and continued effects of the February winter storm have caused tremendous disruption of the entire composites supply chain. The chemical industry’s ability to recover and resume normal supply is still far from complete and heavily restrained. Many raw materials are on strict allocation or not available. The trucking/freight industry also remains a challenge to move the appropriate materials. Interplastic is working with all suppliers in order to obtain the materials needed to continue supply.
