Corrosion, Tank & Pipe

Our corrosion team has developed a series of tough resins for demanding applications. Be it a a stack liner, chemical processing equipment or an entire waste water treatment plant, Interplastic has the right resin for you.

This is our standard, high performance line of bisphenol-A epichlorohydrin epoxy-based vinyl ester products. They are the workhorses of the product line and are the most versatile. They provide excellent resistance to acid, alkalies, and oxidizing chemicals. CORVE8300 type resins also have excellent high temperature capabilities and good solvent resistance. They are offered in different styrene contents and molecular weights, including CORVE8360, a low VOC formula that contains less than 35% VOC/HAP and are well suited for use in fabricating tanks, pipe and process equipment, as well as other applications. The most common method of fabrication includes filament winding or hand lay-up, and occasionally spray up. Both promoted and unpromoted versions of most of these resins are available.  The flagship products in this category are CORVE8300 (unpromoted) and CORVE8301(promoted).

This line of vinyl ester resins are lower intrinsic viscosity versions of the CORVE8300 series, corrosion resistant vinyl ester resins for use in centrifugal casting, pultrusion, vacuum infusion, and RTM applications, and are well suited for use in fabricating tanks, pipe and process equipment, as well as other applications. When cured, they exhibit physical properties similar to the CORVE8300 line. Both promoted and unpromoted versions of most of these resins are available.  The flagship products in this category are CORVE8100 (unpromoted) and CORVE8101 (promoted).

These fire retardant vinyl esters are brominated, bisphenol-A epichlorohydrin epoxy-based resins, and therefore also exhibit outstanding corrosion resistance. Our vinyl ester and modified vinyl esters resins meet the stringent testing requirements of the ASTM E84 Tunnel Test, with flame spread ratings of either <75 (Class 2) or <25 (Class 1), as well as an ASTM E162 flammability rating of 20.5, and an ASTM E662 smoke emission rating after 90 seconds of ≤1, and after 240 seconds of ≤20. We have a selection of these resins that can be formulated to meet UL 94V, ASTM D635, MIL-R-21607E or MIL-R-24719.

The product line includes products for filament winding, hand lay-up, spray and vacuum infusion. These resins are well suited for use in conventional corrosion applications, such as tanks, pipe and process equipment, as well as transportation components and building and construction. Both promoted and unpromoted versions of most of these resins are available.  The flagship products in this category are CORVE8400 (unpromoted) and CORVE8401 (promoted).

This is our premium line of corrosion resistant novolac epoxy-based vinyl ester resins and includes high crosslink density/high heat distortion 877X series products. Novolac vinyl ester resins afford excellent corrosion resistance, high structural properties, and outstanding laminate capabilities at ambient and high temperatures. These resins comprise our premium offerings in infrastructure building and repair, as well as corrosion resistance. They are very versatile in the wide range of capabilities they offer. Our flagship products in this series are CORVE8730 and CORVE8740.

This is extremely tough and flexible line of vinyl esters come in both rubber and non-rubber modified versions. They are well suited for use as coatings, tank linings, primers and adhesives. They are also excellent resins to use where their higher elongation provides improved flex-fatigue resistance.  The flagship product in this category is CORVE8550.
