Architectural/Theme Park

Our architectural/Theme Park resins provide the best balance between flame retardancy, smoke generation and processibility to meet the needs of all applications.

These are nonpromoted, fire retardant vinyl ester resins for use in the manufacture of fiberglass parts with excellent dimensional stability that meets the transportation applications fire and smoke requirements. They require the addition of Alumina Trihydrate (ATH). Fiberglass reinforced panels with 60-70% reinforcement by weight will have an ASTM E162 flame spread rating of less than 25 and ASTM E662 smoke density of less than 200 after 4 minutes in the flaming mode. CORVE8430 is a spray up resin while CORVE8434 is formulated for infusion applications.

CORVE8421 is a brominated, thixotropic corrosion resistant 100% vinyl ester resin that is Class 1 flame only.

CORVE8425 is a brominated, thixotropic corrosion resistant 100% vinyl ester resin that is Class 1 flame and smoke "out of the drum." It requires no additives and is MACT and SCAQMD 1162 compliant.

MVR8051 is a pre promoted, thixtropic halogen-free modified vinyl ester resin designed to be used with ATH. It does not contain MMA. Laminates fabricated with MVR8051have achieved E84 Class A status (flame spread index of 25 or less and smoke development less than 450 per the NFPA 255 Standard. MVR8051 passes UL V-0, ASTM D635, E162, and E662 plus SMP-800C, Docket 90 and MVS302. MVR8051 is perfect for making architectural and theme park components and is specified by Disney for use in laminates 1/4 inch thick.
